Headquarter

Headquarter

The ENVI-met Headquarter allows easy access to the programs within the ENVI-met Suite. From here, you can navigate to all the programs you might need in your process from setting up your project, creating your custom database materials, digitizing your model area, and finally starting the simulation.

The Headquarter interface is divided into four tabs: ENVI-met, Data and Settings, System, and Interactive. If you want to watch our tutorial on how to get started with the ENVI-met Headquarter, please follow this link.

ENVI-met Tab

The ENVI-met Tab includes the remainder of the ENVI-met Software Suite programs. They are the essential tools needed for simulating, editing, visualizing and post-processing your model.

Monde (1) and SPACES (2) are the tools used to digitize a model area. Monde is a vector-based editor, in which you can either use OSM data, load shapefiles or create your own shapes for your model area. The raster-based SPACES allows you to create and edit your model area in the cell-based structure typical for the ENVI-met environment.

The ENVI-guide (3) allows you to define your simulation settings based on three different levels. The basic level allows you to adjust the initial meteorological conditions, whereas the higher levels allow you to choose between multitudes of advanced settings. As an output, this program creates the simulation file (*.SIMX) needed to run a simulation with ENVI_MET.

ENVI-core(4) is the heart of the ENVI-met Software Suite. With this program, the simulation is run depending on the options you have defined in the other programs. The results of this program are saved in the EDX/EDT file format.

The post-processing tool BIO-met (5) provides options for calculating Human Thermal Comfort Indices from your ENVI-met model output files.

Leonardo (6), Leonardo, enables you to create 2D or 3D maps and analyze the results written during the simulation run.

Data and Settings Tab

The Data and Settings Tab provides a shortcut to the programs you may need before starting the digitization and/or simulation process.

The Workspace Manager (1) gives you the option to define a different workspace or organize your current projects. Your current selected project workspace is indicated on the right side of this tab.

The Database Manager (2) allows you to create and modify customized materials and to look up the attributes of the elements within the system database. All elements used in your model area, such as materials, walls, soils, simple plants, sources etc., can be found and adapted here.

Albero (3) is the 3D plant modelling software Albero in which you can look up existing system 3D plants and create your own custom 3D plants.

The function of the Forcing Manager (4) is to create Full Forcing Files from measured data or common weather files such as *.CSV, *.EPW- or *.TRY-files. The created forcing file can then be used in the simulation when defining the Full Forcing as a Lateral Boundary Condition in your *.SIMX-file.

System Tab

In the System Tab, information about your current ENVI-Met version and license type is given. You can also register your new license (2) and manage your current license (1) here.

Interactive Tab

The Interactive Tab links you to the ENVI-met Homepage to get more detailed information about ENVI-met (1) and gives you a shortcut to join our user forum in order to browse and discuss topics with other users and our development team (2). It also connects you with our social media channels (3) & (4) and gives you access to tutorial data that helps you learn using the Software (5).
